On April 14, the "2024 7th China New Energy Commercial Vehicle Industry Conference" hosted by Electric Vehicle Resources wrapped up in Chengdu.
The conference agenda was full of remarkable content. On the first day of the event, the China New Energy Heavy Truck Industry Decision-Makers Conference was held, bringing together hundreds of participants from research institutions, production enterprises, and charging and swapping station operators across the new energy heavy truck upstream and downstream industries nationwide.
Dr. Li Hongzhi, Executive Deputy Dean of Lvkon's Research Institute, was also invited to attend this event and gave a keynote speech titled Current Status and Trends of Electric Drive Axles for Commercial Vehicles.
In the technical routes of drive assembly, electric drive axle solutions have significant advantages in terms of cost, weight, layout space, and efficiency. They are currently widely used in micro-commercial vehicles (such as mini vans) and are beginning to be adopted in light-commercial vehicles (such as light-duty trucks). As for some vehicle models, e-axle are not only adopted in their pure electric versions, but also in their plug-in hybrids and extended-range versions. As for heavy-duty trucks, e-axle has been used in small batches since 2023, and is expected to become more common by 2030. It will gradually become the mainstream in the market in the future.
Lvkon has started the R&D of e-axle since 2019 and officially launched this product in the market in bulk in 2023. Among them, the e-axle products for heavy trucks have been applied in batches to DeepWay, and the e-axle products for light-duty trucks have been applied in batches to XCMG. Last year, Lvkon's cumulative deliveries of e-axle products exceeded 2,000 units.
Looking back on Lvkon's development journey since its establishment in 2011, it has successively branched out into the field of hybrid power, pure electric passenger vehicles, and new energy heavy-duty trucks, all of which have achieved commendable results. In particular, since its foray into the field of new energy heavy-duty truck power system in 2019, in just a few years, Lvkon has become a leading brand in this field. According to Electric Vehicle Resources, the cumulative sales of new energy heavy-duty trucks insured in 2023 reached 34,560 units, of which 8,440 units were equipped with Lvkon's products, accounting for a market share of 24% and ranking first in the industry.
In the common anticipation and witness of new energy logistics vehicle professionals and green heavy truck professionals nationwide, the 8th China New Energy Commercial Vehicle "Golden Panda Award" & "Green Truck Award" Awards Ceremony was held during this event. By dint of its outstanding performance in the field of new energy heavy-duty trucks, Lvkon won the "2023 Motor and Controller Matching TOP1 Award".
